Days of performance art
01-07.09.2019
Lviv, Ukraine
From August 28 to September 3, the tenth edition of the Lviv Performance Art Days will take place, which remains the only art performance festival in Ukraine.
In addition to performances, the festival also features meetings with artists, lectures, video screenings, master classes, discussions, and an experimental educational program called “Performance School.”
This year, artists from Thailand will present their performances at the Performance Days for the first time: Sarina Setapong, Monkhol Plainbench, and Nopawan Sirivechkul. The festival will also feature performers from the UK—Sandra Johnston and Alistair MacLennan, Israel—Tamar Rabin, Shahar Marcus, and Tal Rosen, Poland—Janusz Baldiga and Tomasz Szrama, and Ukraine—Volodymyr Kaufman, Vasyl Bazhai, Yaroslav Futymskyi, Gleb Vysheslavsky, Maria Drozdova, and Vitaliy Shuplyak, as well as Stein Henningsen from Norway. The school will be accompanied by performances by artists from Ukraine – Mykhailo Barabash, Yuriy Shtaida, Zabig performace group, from Poland – Janusz Bałdyga, Ryszard Ługowski, Jarosław Perszko, from Spain – Isabel León, Mario Montoya, as well as Wilawan Wiangthong from Thailand, Kineret Haya Max from Israel, and Anja Ibsch from Germany.
For ten years, Performance Days has been developing the most avant-garde genre of contemporary art in one of the oldest cities in Ukraine. Thanks to the festival, a new generation of Ukrainian performers is emerging, and Lviv is becoming a center from which performance art is spreading to the artistic circles of other cities.
All performances are open to the public.
