Revealing of the Concealed

Location: Courtyard of the Museum Prison on Lontskoho, Lviv, Ukraine
Materials:
– square snow block
– internal cavities filled with black pigment/soot
– ink lines drawn across snow and ground
Dimensions: approx. 3 × 3 × 0.6 m (snow block); ink lines extending across the entire courtyard (site-specific)
Presented at memorial museum of the occupational regimes victims “Prison on Lontskoho Street” (Lviv, 2017)
Inviolability, holiness and silence of the ground. Events it is hiding should better not be disturbed – there are too many of them, they are bloody and cruel. Slightly opened page of the history makes you paralyzed by the fear that keeps silence with the ground.
The sacrifice makes no sense, subjective reflection on this sacrifice is what matters.
Importance of life, its meaning and filling. Retain ideological effort of the future generations.
