Performance within the project “Subjective. Vertical Line of Memory”
Year: 2018
Medium: art performance
Duration: 5 minutes
Location: Vinnytsia, Ukraine
Presented at: International Winter Festival of Land Art Mythogenesis (2018)
The performance explores the loss of familial connections and rituals — the fear of forgetting shared gestures and histories. For women, marriage often marks a symbolic threshold between belonging and estrangement. The act of making dumplings, once a unifying family ritual, becomes a metaphor for continuity, dialogue, and memory transmission.
Through the juxtaposition of physical actions and symbolic materials, the work questions how memory persists in both biological and digital forms — DNA and data as parallel archives of identity. It reflects on how individual memory constructs a “vertical line” that anchors us within collective history, regardless of geography, age, or origin.
